Yorton Farm is recognised as one of Britain’s fastest growing breeding operations, with the standing roster of stallions in big demand with endorsements from Britain, Ireland and France.

From humble beginnings foaling mares for nearby contacts the family-run business outgrew its Shropshire home, with 300 mares visiting the farm in the year before the October 2013 move to Leighton Farm.

Yorton Farm Stud is run by husband and wife team, David and Teresa Futter with yard manager Lucy Dawson. This is a family business, with their two sons, Lester and Riley, very much part of the team.

Two full time and various part time members of staff work together to keep the stud running smoothly. Cleanliness and attention to detail are crucial to the effective bloodstock operation.

Yorton Farm Stud provides all that a boarding mare and foal could require. The stunning Victorian buildings have been converted into multiple stable units containing feed and hay mangers together with self–filling water troughs.

The foaling units are spacious, fully ventilated, well lit and have constant 24/7 CCTV monitoring.

Surrounding fields are set up to be especially young stock friendly. Nearest the house and under close supervision are paddocks for mares and young foals, smartly divided with post and rail fencing.

Yorton Farm Stud has a close working relationship with well renowned local equine vets. During stud season a vet is on site daily, meaning no aspect of a mare’s fertility cycle is overlooked.

There is also a very competitive vet scheme available which enables the mare to be scanned as often as is necessary to get her in foal  for a one off fee.

The new born foals are IGG tested 24 hours after been born to monitor their immune system.
